Nope, the refrigerator works fine. If this would have failed during the critical morning hours, we would have fixed it immediately. Since the microwave didn't affect the temperature of my beverages, we waited until noon to fix it. Besides, the microwave only benefitted those that didn't drink their coffee in a timely fashion. |

We're back on lilne with the heat-sourcing device. BTW, we gave up on the taste attribute LONG ago. |

Heck, that mechanical failure may just work to their advantage. Luke warm beverages go down much faster than piping hot ones. As for taste... That's another story altogether. |

Oh, no. Horror of horrors. We lost the Facet Technology microwave to a horrendous accident this morning. Coffee and tea drinkers are forced to consume their beverages rapidly or will need to drink luke-warm concoctions. This is terrible luck - losing a key production device on the morning of the Coffeethon. Tall Steve will attempt to get our heat-generating capacity on line over the lunch period. |

Congratulations Jeff! …and another excellent showing by the Retteraths. Thanks to everyone for competing this year, even despite the intermittent connectivity problems. |

Sorry folks... We're encountering problems with the cable internet service in our area (where this site is hosted). The cable techs were out tonight and confirmed there was a voltage problem. They are working their way up the chain, testing each hub. Hopefully they will find the problem before midnight. If not; service will stabilize once it cools off outside if the behavior is consistent with previous 90+ degree days.
In the meantime, I am using a Digi Connect WAN as a backup route to the internet. This is GSM, EDGE Class 10 cellular device server - not nearly as fast as cable; but at least it works :) |

Coffee-thon day! Surprisingly the only event I've participated in that has put my job at risk...
Do you remember when I was asked to put the carafe away?

It is on! Glad to see everyone on-line. We have been experiencing internet connectivity problems; so if the site is unavailable, just try back a little later. |

Good to hear from you all again. I applaud your efforts. It seems that the absence of the legendary Neudecker has inspired a new spirit of relative moderation. |

For some strange reason, I'm still up and at the keyboard. Funny that, huh ? |

Congratulations Rob!
I must say, though, that it would be nice to see a winner with the highest number of "cups" rather than "cans" once again...
Andy, as a fellow "cup" person, thanks for sticking with it as long as you did :-)
And thanks all once again for a great turn-out! |
